BLOG#6 Rich Pictures

What is rich picture?

Rich pictures, part of the soft system methodology, provide a tool for learning about complex or unknown problems by drawing extensive representations of them. generally, rich pictures do not follow commonly accepted terminology, usually consisting of symbols, sketches or “drawings” and can contain as much (pictographic) information as is considered appropriate.
The finished picture may be of interest to other stakeholders of the problem being defined because it is likely to show several different aspects of the situation.

But  the real value of this strategy is how it causes the user to think deeply about the problem and understand it well enough to communicate it pictorially.

Rich pictures can also be created in a group. By making everyone contribute to a rich picture, they can help create a common understanding of a given situation.

In our class activity on NMIT and their International students we presented a common level of understanding rich picture to other groups and tutor.

In a group of four we discussed and created a rich picture and presented it to class.so, the image below is the rich picture made by us.
